I have a hunch that story is the thing that makes us human. I'm fascinated by the way story connects, drives and — sometimes — destroys us.

I studied Theology + Religious Studies at university and, more than twenty years on, I'm still digging in the fertile ground of myth, mortality and meaning-making.

I am a single parent of (almost) grown-up children and this role has given me insight into the world of disability, neurodivergence, play, communication and creative approaches to a flourishing life.

As an ADHDer who experiences chronic illness, I'm always keen to write characters that think and feel deeply in a world that doesn't always make sense.
